homeland

My dad took these two. I put 'em here because I so much like it. That's what my homeland is like.

taman sari waterkasteel

I found these two photos of Taman Sari in a local night flea market. As it's called, Taman Sari used to be a large area of beautiful garden adorned with flowers, artificial lake and pools in the late 18th to early 19th century. But because of its poor maintenance and wars, the building and garden suffered some damages and were neglected. Over time, people began to inhabit the site and filled all of the canals, gardens, bridges, and lake with human settlement.

Anyway, somebody stole my bicycle the night before last. God bless them.

at the place we met

It's always nice to look at photographs. These ones were taken about four years ago, when I was younger and skinnier. We stayed at village and taught natives literacy and numeracy for about two months. While we were not teaching, we played at lake (they have some beautiful ones!), went to the beach, climbed mountain, did rafting. In short, had fun!

I didn't take any of these photos. My friends did. But since I inherited the rolls which was actually belong to my boyfie (he and I went to the same village), I feel responsible not to only keep it, but also share it. Just in case we will miss each other now and later, we can just look at these and suddenly it will take us to that place we met before. Just as it does to me every moment I look at them.
